Yellow Sticker Marks and Spencer Bargain Haul

My family and I are (extremely) regular shoppers in Marks and Spencer and pay full price the vast majority of the time. That being said, I do love a yellow sticker bargain! (And I think we deserve some after all the custom we’ve given them over the years). If you know the right times to go in you can find some excellent products for rock-bottom prices.

If you’re not familiar with how the system works, this is what happens:
Anything that is dated to expire that day is reduced for a first time early in the day. The amount of reductions varies but I hardly ever buy products on a first reduction as savings usually aren’t significant and I don’t feel it’s enough to warrant it being that day’s date. The interesting stuff happens on the second reduction, which will happen much later in the day. This is when you can get great deals. Times vary for each store, depending on how late they stay open but it’s usually around an hour or so before closing. It tends to happen a little earlier on Sundays and bank holidays. Some stores with later opening times may even do a third reduction where prices are ridiculously low, but this does not happen in every branch. If you want to get the best deals, you will need to familiarise yourself with the specifics of your local store, so you know the best days and times to visit.

It can be quite competitive, depending on how many customers are in the shop and how many are there specifically for yellow stickers. Products on second yellow stickers usually go extremely quickly so you’ll need to get in quick if you want to snag some bargains. It can be tempting to pick up lots of products but remember that everything will have an expiry date of that day, so just consider how much you can realistically use. Check to see if items can be frozen as this is a good way to stock up on quality food for a very small amount of money.

So, to the haul then. This is really just a mini haul, but I still considered it worth sharing as there were some excellent savings. I’ve had some more impressive yellow sticker hauls in the past, and hopefully I’ll have some more to share here in the future.

This is what I managed to pick up. As you can see, I got 2 beetroot and feta wraps, 2 hoisin duck wraps, a roast chicken and avocado sandwich and 2 hoisin duck sushi wraps.

Now to the important bit – how much did I pay, and how much did I save?
I purchased the beetroot and feta wraps for 30p each, which would have cost £3 at full price. The hoisin duck wraps cost me 35p each, while full price these would be £3.30 each. The roast chicken and avocado sandwich was reduced from £2.80 to 30p. Finally, the hoisin duck sushi wraps would have been £2.30 full price but only cost me 25p.

So, what are the final figures then?
What I paid:
Beetroot and Feta Wrap x 2 = 60p
Hoisin Duck Wrap x 2 = 70p
Chicken and Avocado s/w = 30p
Sushi Wraps x 2 = 50p
Grand Total: £2.10

Full price value:
Beetroot and Feta Wrap x 2 = £6
Hoisin Duck Wrap x 2 = £6.60
Chicken and Avocado s/w = £2.80
Sushi Wraps x 2 = £4.60
Grand Total: £20

Scores on the doors, then. I managed to get £20 worth of products for only £2.10. That gives a total saving of £17.90. Pretty good going, I would say.

Amount paid: £2.10

Total value: £20

Saving: £17.90
