Maltesers Buttons (Food Review)

Bringing you a very quick little review of new Maltesers buttons today. I don't know what it's like in your neck of the woods, but these things are like gold dust in my town! I visited my local Tesco several times with no success, eventually managing to find some the small packs yesterday. I did want to grab one of the large bags but those are still evading me at the moment. The small bags are 50p in Tesco and the large ‘More to Share’ bags are currently on offer for £1.50 (usually £2.50). I just hope I can manage to find them before the price goes back up!

Malteser buttons are essentially a flat disc of Mars chocolate with little round crunchy pieces of Malteser inside. They have that distinctive Malteser taste but don’t have the same amount of crunch you get with normal Maltesers. I think this is quite good as, although I absolutely love Maltesers, they can sometimes be a bit hard on the teeth. The chocolate has more of a central role in the buttons than it does in Maltesers, but the malty-ness still comes through nicely.

The small bags boast on the front of the wrapper that there are only 166 calories per pack, so not bad if you are on a diet and perhaps want a little weekend treat. Although I might suggest that this is because they put hardly any in the packet! The amount did seem a little mean to me but probably good for portion control.

I thought these were really tasty and moreish - they could be quite addictive! They are something new and different but have that classic Malteser taste. If you like Maltesers and Mars chocolate, I would definitely recommend giving these a try. If you can find them, that is!

Have you managed to try them yet? Let me know what you think in the comments.
